Tamara Zeki

Tamara is currently studying Bioengineering with a concentration in healthcare informatics at George Mason University. She has a high interest in coming up with new ways to organize data and integrate developing data systems in healthcare. She hopes to become physician’s assistant school in the future. She interned and volunteered at the Clinical Research Unit at Georgetown University Hospital, allowing her to apply what she learned in academia towards the clinical setting.


Ahmed Rahu

Ahmed is majoring in Bioengineering with a concentration in Pre-Health. He plans on going to medical school to become a D.O. to ultimately practice osteopathic medicine. Ahmed volunteers as an Emergency Medical Technician with his local fire departments in Prince William County Fire & Rescue. This allows for him to apply some of what he is learning, gain clinical experience, as well as to continue to explore his interests in healthcare and medicine. He is also a Biology and Chemistry tutor, and teaches elementary school kids how to code through an after school program. In his spare time, he enjoys to read, play tennis, and video games.


Amana Khokhar

Amana is a senior in the Bioengineering program at George Mason University.  Her concentration is Healthcare Informatics.   She hopes to complete her Masters or PhD in Biomedical Engineering. Amana is currently a Teacher’s  Assistant/Grader in the Bioengineering department at Mason. She is interested in neurotechnology and  nanotechnology. Amana’s goal is to develop technology to fill in the current gap in medical devices in regards to neurotechnology.


Alicia Suchicital

Alicia is a senior at George Mason University pursuing BS in Bioengineering with a concentration in Biomedical Signals and Systems and a minor in Neuroscience. Since her start at Mason, she has had an interest in biomedical research and how it applies to rehabilitative practices. Alicia has previously participated in two semesters of OSCAR funded research on campus; her first semester was under the mentorship of Dr. Naomi Lynn Gerber and Dr. Zoran Duric and her second semester was under be mentorship of Dr. Wilsaan Joiner. Alicia hopes to have a career in developing technologies for improving the quality of life in patients suffering from neurological diseases and disorders.


Deepthi Jayakumar

Deepthi Jayakumar is a senior at George Mason University, currently majoring in Bioengineering with a Pre-Med concentration. Her interests include genetics, neurotechnology, and medical imaging. Deepthi plans on attending medical school in the future as well as pursuing a career as an M.D. She has interned at INOVA Fairfax Hospital to understand the neurotechnologies and the medical imaging that is associated with it. She is also volunteering at the Novant Health Medical Center, exploring her interests. While she hopes to be a helping hand in the future of medicine, in her spare time, she likes to read and play tennis.
